Calibrate the oven

Sometimes you don't have reliable temperature for your baking: pies, cakes, cookies, meats…

To get it this is the solution:

1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar on aluminum foil

Preheat your oven to 350°F

Place the sugar in oven for 15 minutes

If the sugar doesn't melt, raise the temperature of the oven by 10°F and keep raising the temperature by 10°F until it melts. 

Make a note of the temperature.

The melting point of table sugar is 366°F if your oven doesn’t heat well you will have to add or remove the temperature to avoid the difference.

Now you can cook with good temperature!

Pour éviter tout risque de trou dans vos lainages causé par les mites, il suffit de mettre vos pulls, gilets... dans un plastique au congélateur pendant 72h avant de les ranger dans vos armoires ou dans vos boites de protection. Le froid tue toutes les larves. C'est aussi un bon désinfectant.

Les zestes d'agrumes, Citrus Zests

Lorsque j'achète des agrumes Bio, je prélève les zestes. Je les fais sécher au four à très basse température, au soleil ou près d'une source de chaleur et je les utilise dans les thés, infusions, plats, recettes... Armoires, aspirateur, placards, réfrigérateur... Bon, il faut aimer l'odeur et le goût des agrumes!
